Bislett
Bislett is Oslo's study-and-training district, the athletics stadium, the Bislett guest house, and a large share of researchers from the University of Oslo and doctors from Rikshospitalet. Central and still calm.
Bislett is characterised by the Bislett stadium in the middle of the district, and a housing stock dominated by brick blocks from around 1900. The university environment defines the neighbourhood, you meet students from both the University of Oslo and BI at the cafés, and Rikshospitalet employees are a stable tenant group. Bislett is large enough to feel like a neighbourhood and small enough that you recognise the faces at the local grocery store after two weeks. Furnished apartments here are often used by visiting researchers on a semester, doctors on specialist training, or parents moving into a flat while a larger home purchase goes through. Trams 11 and 17 run straight through the area, and it is ten minutes by tram to both Aker brygge and Grünerløkka.
