Aker Brygge

Aker brygge was transformed from shipyard into an office and residential district in the 1980s, and is today the most waterfront workplace in Oslo. The seafront line between the Astrup Fearnley museum and Tjuvholmen is perhaps the city's most photographed stretch, and the apartments above it are in demand accordingly. Most homes here are modern with large window sections, balconies towards the fjord, and building-shared facilities like a gym and reception. Aker brygge is the first choice for finance employees in companies like DNB, the Norwegian Central Securities Depository, and a long list of law firms in Vika. Furnished apartments here are typically slightly more expensive than in Frogner and Bjørvika, but you pay for the seafront, the facilities, and a two-minute walk to the office.
